Johnny Cash was a visionary force in American roots music. He touched the hearts of millions of people across the world, by making soulful music about how he felt, and his religion and the state of the world. There was a sincere honesty to the music he made, which people picked up on and respected him for. He made music from his heart.
A few years before his death he embarked upon a new series of albums known as the American Recordings with the Def Jam producer Rick Rubin. The four albums recorded during these sessions were some of the greatest music of his career, Cash at this point was virtually a broken man from the untimely death of his wife, June Carter Cash. Less than four months after her death, Johnny passed away.

The music of Johnny Cash continues to touch people all over the world to this day.
